Brief annotation: This workshop, scheduled on International Poetry Day, aims to be an interdisciplinary bridge between literature (poetry), history (ethnicity and Civil Rights in the USA), civic education (racial equality), and psychology (resilience). Based on Maya Angelou’s seminal poem “Still I Rise”, it will rely on an action-oriented scenario, with a sequence of authentic communicative tasks of reception, production, and interaction. The major soft skill it will focus on, in addition to communication and collaboration, is resilience. The workshop objectives will be reached through text-to-self and text-to-world connections.
